My father ended up having 2 unnecessary procedures. Upstate Med was dumbfounded on why this Dr did the procedures he did. Best I can think It was a $ grab. He had no answers to our ? Just the “I know better” arrogance.

No testing for my uncles diagnosis claimed he knew without a doubt all his experience blah blah blah. Trying to push some new procedure on us. Got all pissy when we ansked about a 2nd opinion. Went to St Joes Syracuse and found that his meds were out of whack Did real testing after the med change and didn’t need anything. If he followed him he would have had a heart procedure for nothing but maybe making the Dr money. Shameful

I trust Dr Sassower with my life. He listens carefully, is understanding, and most importantly, is extremely versed in his field. My go-to Cardiologist whenever possible.

Went in with my father to see Sassower in June for procedure approval. Commented that my dad was underweight and had low iron. Without telling us he had written "bowel cancer?" In his file. I guess he had no intention of helping my dad but didn't want to accept the responsibility of telling us bad news. Gaffney was surprised Sassower hadn't said anything to us about his concerns. I found doctor Sassower to be arrogant, sarcastic and difficult to talk to. Would not recommend him, as there are far better doctors in the same practice.

I saw Dr. Sassowe due to an unexpected heart issue. He was great, explained my condition and placed a stent in my RCA. I would recommend him as he saved my life.
