My sessions felt surface-level and repetitive. I felt like he would wait for me to give a response just to change the subject. The advice I received was generic and could have applied to anyone — nothing felt specific to my situation or needs. I never felt genuinely heard, and I never made any real progress. Seeking therapy takes courage, and patients deserve a provider who engages with them beyond the surface level. This wasn't the right fit for me.
Omg!!!! The same thing happened to me and it happened more than once! I was there trying to deal with the loss of my mother and his reaction made me feel so much worse because I took it personally. I desperately need help but that experience makes me reticent to find someone else.
If I could give no star I would. Years ago I saw Dr. Gordon and he fell asleep in his chair on and off continuously. I just left, then he had the nerve to give me his opinion as if he heard anything I mentioned. From the moment the session started he was falling asleep. That was that and never heard from him again.
