Being hospitalized is not supposed to be a positive experience. However, I can say my 4-day stay at Miami Valley South was indeed a positive experience. Positive enough that I almost want to say it was a pleasure to be there. I say this because of the extraordinary and excellent care I received from the staff in the emergency department and the fifth floor. There was one nurse named Amber that came in to check on me and give me my meds and take my vitals that gave me a direct care I will never forget
I have never been treated so badly by a ER nursing staff. What I believe to be the head nurse was the worst. I will not be back ever.
$1k out of pocket for an ER visit for a cut on my hand even with insurance. Doctor wanted to do an X-ray for “broken off metal” in my hand, I declined. It was S2 tool steel from a screw driver I poked myself with. This is why people rather suffer than go to the hospital. Broken healthcare system. Next time I’ll save myself the trip and clean and super glue the cut closed myself.
