How can you give Mexico Viejo any less than 5 stars!? This is by far my favorite 'hole-in-the-wall" Mexican food restaurant in Southern California, and trust me, I've been to many. The two most outstanding aspects of this restaurant are 1. They use amazing tortillas (not mission), and 2. Their guacamole is made fresh with only the best, most ripe avocados. I'd recommend the Carne Asada Burrito or the rolled tacos with guacamole.
So great! This is the best run in and run out spot! Avocados are fresh off the vine and their carne asada is out of this world...some of the best in Encinitas!
Delicioso! There are so many Mexican places in Encinitas- and this one stand out from the others. It's not necessarily better- just different. It tastes like they use a different blend of seasons in things than typical. I love the cheese enchiladas with tomatillo sauce and the flan, which i believe is seasonal.
