The District does a fantastic job protecting our water environment in the greater Chicago area!! This is a little additional information dealing with our current flooding concerns. I worked for the District for years as a sewage Treatment Plant Operator. The problems we face today are complex. One of the main problems are these huge rain events which are becoming more frequent. If I could leave a 0 I would, apparently the MWRD is responsible for everyone in the town of Cicero flooding the 2nd of July and every year before that!!!. We flood because you’re to busy draining the Chicago area first, every year!! We pay high taxes for what??? To flood every year??? Who’s going to pay for your mistake??? I lose thousands of dollars every year from flooding damages to my home!! Who’s gonna pay for this??
