MetEd sent someone out to do work on the main electric box to my home. I was not notified prior to them coming out that my electric would be temporarily shut off. I was in an online meeting with a client when my power went out without warning. My biggest frustration was trying to find a representative who could assist me in filing a complaint. Maybe Met Ed could raise rates more slowly if they stopped mailing us month after month with scary offers to cover our underground lines from the street to our house? If I didn't bite the first time, second time, third time....I am not falling for this unneeded coverage. The same for gas and water. If you Google the question are these scams, you get back, well they can't be called scams because they offer actual coverage but the chances you would ever need it is minuscule.

Crazy to share that my electric bill skyrocketed and saw the distribution fee along with the pass through charges and couldn’t believe that, that was more than my actual electric bill! I am now hearing from other how high their electric bill came! And, the nerve to hear representatives talk as if you are irresponsible and need to pay bill or they will cut it off. But, ya’ll are the ones doing this to the people. This is complete madness.
