My wife was compelled to go to this examiner for an IME by the responsible insurance company that has to pay out her workers comp Healthcare benefit. My wife suffered a traumatic brain injury on the job. The Examiner would not allow me in the room to take notes on her examination. I believe this violates my wife's rights, but this examiner doesn't give a shit.
I’m an advocate for a client who has a traumatic brain injury and she was not allowed to have me come in the room with her to take notes in case she needs help with memory recall. Staff at front desk unaware if there is a written policy which explicitly states that a patient can not have someone sit in with them. She is seeing an medical doctor and has a right to have a witness.
