serious roach infestation and very bad mold. Not safe for children
If I could give 0 stars I would. The only thing good about this apartment was the price..You get what you pay for though. Very run down apartments, paper thin walls, heating and cooling in that apartment was a joke, but you will pay sky high bills for trying to maintain a temperature. The management there was terrible, we were wrongly charged for multiple months, but only refunded for a couple.
i am a tenant getting ready to leave my one bedroom apartment at Merrifield apts. I have been here for five months and have not been very pleased with the management lady on site. I moved from baltimore to salisbury over the summer june 2007 hoping to save money to start a family and in return i started out with a high Utility bill and every month after that was a battle from the property to find a source for my problems. We at Accurate Pest Control were contracted to perform roach treatments at Merrifield Apartments. There was very severe infestation stemming from a few units. We have performed 3 services and have not been paid. We have been told that the service was not authorized or performed even though the contract and invoices are all signed. I suggest you DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They are very deceiving. I wonder if that is why there is so much turnover in management. hmmmmmm?
I live in a studio here at Merrifield. Moving here was a big mistake. The apartment is old and run down. The heating bills are sky high every month, and the unit to heat the apartment is nothing more than one of those heat/AC units that you would find in a hotel. The refrigerator is a "college sized" fridge, so the freezer is tiny. I have lived at Merrifield for over 2 years now. I came here to rent, because of the neighborhood. It is a safe and quiet environment. The management is pleasant and the maintenance crew responds to physical needs of the apartments. The laundry rooms are always clean and ready to utilize. I have lived at Merrifield for over 3 years and I love it! I am a student at SU and find it so quiet here. I also find it convenient and in walking distance to the college. I have never had an issue with the staff. There has been maintenance turnover but the new person is very nice and gets the job done. The office is always open and I have even seen them in the office on their days off and holidays. Whenever I have had any after hour emergencies, the staff responds to the immediately. Future tenants beware! I have been in a one bed for 8 mo now, and the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. I was dealing with a plumbing mess- overflowing toilet, constant clogging- for about a month before my situation was tended to by professionals. I have had serious mold issues on my walls, carpet and cabinets. A mushroom grew out of my carpet, folks. I was over a month without a working air conditioning/heat unit. I lived in the Merrifield apartments for over a year. There is NO way that any of those apartments are worth the rent that they are asking. Not well maintained at all, just run down and old in general not to mention located in a shady neighborhood. There were many occasions when I did not feel safe. I am not entirely sure what the problem was as far as the electric bills but they were outrageous.
