A place to celebrate life – From my very first visit to Meritage, I was very impressed. It was a Sunday and very brisk outside and I was seated in the perfect place by the windows so I could gaze out onto Rice Park and reflect on the day and enjoy the food. Great French Bistro – We had a wonderful experience last night at Meritage. It is the perfect French Bistro and we talked with all the servers and diners at the table next to us. We found the entire experience to be just what we wanted. The food was fabulous, we started with the escargot and a tiny tuna tartar taco,then added the pomme frites. Meh... my experience there was fine but nothing to write home about. The host was extremely friendly with the couple before us, but couldn't seem to be bothered with my wife and I. And I felt like "extras" such as deserts, cheese, were pushed on us...

In response ... – I usually don't take the time, nor do I feel it is appropriate for restaurateurs to respond to online postings/reviews - but, in this case the slander is just so apparent, I felt I must respond. This woman did in fact dine with us on Sunday evening with her family. Five in total, three adults, a child of about 2 and a 10 month old baby. ertannur – I have paid a visit to Meritage on a sunday night with my family. The service was so slow that we could not leave the restaurant in two hours. As it took so long to finish our meal, my baby started crying by the end of the night and the owner of the restaurant literally kicked us out from the restaurant. My worry was she did not do this until I signed the check! She was the meanest and rudest restaurant owner I had ever seen!
