Absolute thieves!! Stole $400 out of my security deposit for cleaning, after I had previously paid and submitted information to them of a professional cleaning company prior to move out. They stole $175 for trash when the cans and house were completely empty!!Not only that they are claiming that they sent me a check, and three weeks later, no check has been received!!Run away from any place this property manages!! We rented a home with Merit for almost 9 years. The owner decided to sell, which Merit was contracted to do. Two weeks before moving out, Beth the property manager and the selling agent, to do a walkthrough. It was stated that the home was going to be repainted and new carpet. It had been over 12 years since it was done. We were not in a postion to buy, so we had to find another home. A month after moving out we received a bill for $5500 on top of them keeping the deposit. I want to say something about 3 employees of Merit Real Estate. We were looking for a home and Brooke ****** and Denise ******* showed us 30 homes in 3 days. We finally found our home and Brooke worked hard to get the deal done. Lani ****** kept us informed on what our payments would be and Denise ******* actually gave up her commission in order for us to get this home (home many realtors would do that). If I could give zero stars, I would. During the year that I have stayed in one of their properties, the property management at this specific location has made everything impossible and were never able to do anything in a timely manner. On top of that, I have placed more money into fixing MY property broken by their appliances than I have ever had to do in any other property. For starters, their property is not insulated so the utilities have been well near $300 the entire year and yet according to them, there is nothing unus... read more

In regards to Merit Co, our experience has been horrible from day 1. We requested a walk thru about a week prior to signing our lease. The carpets hadn't been cleaned, there was oil in the stove heating element pans and underneath, the fridge was dirty under the bottom drawers, there were holes and cracks in the walls, very dusty ledges and cobwebs practically in every corner.
