I was at Meridian after experiencing extreme child abuse at home and after my removal eventually I ended up here. This place was HORRIBLE back then! A Dr. KIM HUGHS was the head phycologist at the time. I BEGGED my CPS worker to leave here. They were extremely abusive. Their point/level program was a set up for failure. They mixed children that had behavioral issues with children that actually had mental issues. They used brainwashing techniques and were physically abusive at times. This is the WORSE place I have ever been..If you have other places that you can go then go. It takes and hour to answer calls. I saw Callie Callaway. she was cold, non helpful, just wanted to pass me off to someone else, I ask her to get my files from my previous PNP..however I found out today that I have to do the request at the front desk. The place overall helped me, However the petty techs who talk to children like they’re grown and treat us like ticking time bombs instead of kids who need a bit of help didn't help me in the slightest. One tech used to scream at me & treat me like a dog. However i can say my therapist (Mrs.Abby) Mrs Rita and Mrs Alayna & Mr Cayden made my time so much easier and helped me through so much i can’t explain. A-lot of the techs just don't care about you or your mental health & are just there for the paycheck.
I Have to say thank you to the behavior techs and supervisors who put in the work to keep me and others safe. The problems I've had here include many things breaking, uncleanliness (a staff forced me and another client to clean a day room that had not been cleaned in what looked like months if not a year.), staff using point sheets as a weapon to make kids scared, some of the staff are just downright petty.
