Good experience until the very end unfortunately. Very uncaring on call staff. We had to wait about 5 hours for pronouncing. Made the end of life much more difficult

My father was in the hospital in the icu. He was extremely ill and declining every day which is why we decided to put him on hospice. We had a consult with Heather and Amy. We were guaranteed he would be comfortable prior to taking the bipap mask off. A dilaudid drip was started and an hour later the mask was taken off. He immediately became agitated, restless and began crying. The on call hospice RN happened to come in at that time and I told her the drip was not holding him and getting more every 30 minutes was not enough.... read more

The chaplain was wonderful. Other than that, my dad was just another guy on his way out. They basically let him struggle until his last breath. They wouldn’t come when called bc nurses don’t come out to clean up patients, and home aids are only available until a certain point early in the day. We had to do everything ourselves and felt that the services were pretty neglectful. My dad did not pass in peace and they did not prepare us at all for what would happen. Overall disgusted with meridian hospice.

The Meridian Hospice Team from Manahawkin, NJ were all extremely professional, helpful, and kind while providing home care and support for our beloved mom, and our family. The case manager, nurses, aids, social workers, and chaplain all went out of their way to provide comfort and dignity for all of us during this challenging time. They all are wonderful people and competent professionals. We can’t thank them enough for helping us through the entire experience!
