Excellent care from the staff here. Took wonderful care of my step sister and even provided for my comfort as her visitor as well.
The doctor actually said to my face " everybody dies sometime" . Which is technically true but is totally inappropriate to the mother of a patient.
My grandmother was briefly in this ER and I am appalled at how filthy and disorganized it is. There was blood and a used needle on the floor. My grandmother was able to have her own room, but they keep other patients on stretchers around the nurses station which seems like a HIPAA violation to me. The staff here looks stressed out, unhappy, and overworked. Very sad.
My Father has been in the emergency room at Mercy several times in the last 12 months due to cardio and back issues. The majority of the RN’s could not speak fluent English which made communicating very important health issues a big problem. Several times important medication dosage and intervals were not charted correctly or at all. If myself and other family members had not been there 24 hrs to correct the staff on these errors terrible things would have happened.
