Mercy Care and Mercy Care Advantage are a complete disadvantage to have as an insurance carrier. They deliberately take patients rights away from them. It is Federal Law that every single patient has the right to 60 days to decide if they wish to appeal a claim. Mercy Care takes this away from their members. Everyone needs to complain constantly to Medicare via their claim complain form online. Mercy Care s already in trouble with CMS. They only have 3 stars and they are to have 5. I have a rare skin disease that has came with multiple referrals to surgeons and infectious disease to help treat it. Mercy care prevented me from getting medical treatment and had me committed to the mental institution for saying I had the rare condition. They lied to the courts and after I started asking for an investigation into the violation of my rights I was harassed to the point u had to change my phone number and after leaving the state because of them they had my section 8 housing voucher terminated. I highly suggest anyone with hiv to do just a little history on mercy care and Aetna. They almost killed me denying me medical treatment the same week I started my hiv medications I was hospitalized with pneumonia and at the same time I started being investigated by social security in regards to the SSDI I have received since 2012. I have a rare skin disorder that the accountants at mercy care had never heard of so the accountants assumed I was mentally ill . I was not allowed the appeal the mentally ill diagnosis made by the accountants at mercy care . They prevented all medical treatment needed for my skin condition out of necessity to keep them from being held accountable for having the police take me from my home 2 times in handcuffs and held on a mental hold for claiming I had the skin condition doctors had and have since proven is real. The worlds worst Provider Relations/Network Mgmt depts ever. They are disinclined to ever assist or handle any task in a timely manner. They are being compensated regardless of job performance.
