Not accepting private insurance and also having a monopoly over most of the covered practicioners on an insurer’s list is the opposite of accessible mental healthcare. Making the decision to not accept insurance, while being a major provider in the area, is a travesty.
MHP told me (a pregnant homeless woman with PTSD) that I'm not vulnerable enough to get the help I need. What's the point? What a joke.
They say they want to help but that is the farthest thing from the truth. Trust is a big thing with me and I could not trust the profesionals. Thhey didn't show the slightest concern when I told them how suicidal I felt. I just felt they were outing in their time and nothing more.
