The Mental Wellness Center has been significantly helpful in multiple ways. Sincerely thankful for their professionalism, guidance, and understanding. Some of the contracted catorers have spoken very badly about the unhoused and attendees in Spanish. More oversight over the contractor providing catering is needed and night kitchen cleaning crew. I’ve taken two Family 2 Family classes at the MENTAL WELLNESS Center in Santa Barbara and also my adult child and I participate in a peer and parent program and it’s helped me greatly to deal with schizophrenia that has affected my wonderful son and changed his life. It’s an illness that causes psychosis, delusions and hallucinations. Counselors and peers at Mental Wellness Center have given me the hope to keep going. I work at The Salvation Army (a transitional housing facility) here in Santa Barbara and I cannot stress enough what an invaluable resource The Wellness Center is for our residents; particularly those with dual-diagnoses (having both mental health and addiction issues) and the vulnerable/at-risk individuals who happen to find themselves without housing in our fair city.
