Built in the late 30's the character of the rough logs, it's hand built construction reflect a history of many long winters twisted by extreme cold and moving premafrost and short summers in a rush to get the work done. The interior is warm and cozy to welcome travelers, and those needing a resting place after a day fly fishing the creek, biking, or in winter skiing the 50 miles of dog friendly trails.

Not a good experience, bad attitude, will not go back here
Best stop along that road, between Palmer and Glennallen...and FABULOUS burgers.
campground was great, along and with the amenities. service was poor, and food wasn't much better. Alaskans usually have amazing hospitality. We would be willing to try again however.
We loved our stay. It's hard to say what's best about Mendeltna Creek Lodge: the cabin, the hospitality, or the river running through it? But I'm going to go with the FOOD. Oh my goodness ... the food is delicious and Mabel garnishes every dish with love and beauty.
My boyfriend, our dog, and I stayed at Mendeltna Creek Lodge after a long 7 days of driving from Indiana. Mabel was amazing and we instantly felt hospitality from her! It was also nice to chat with a fellow artist. We will definitely be back for a visit in the Fall!
