Menards is a staple in midwestern home renovation. But you really need to be a frequent customer to get the most out of it. Employees are mostly just unskilled shelve stockers, who know nothing about actual home improvement. That said, I imagine having more knowledgeable employees would raise the cost of employees and Menards already caters more to the commercial market than they do the general DIYer.
