I have done many projects over the last 30 years with Menards. Roofing my house. Many plumbing & flooring projects and even building a shed. I have always found Menards employees to be extremely helpful. But a little advice, on a DIY project any advice from any employee is only as good as the information you give said emploee.
The store is amazing, however don't try calling their main line. I tried calling 2 different times and the phoe just rang and rang.... I sat on the line for over 10 minutes both times and never got an answer after I made my dept. selection .... total waste of time as far as trying to get some info.
We prefer Menards over the other big box stores of this type. Staff are always really nice and helpful. They have very knowledgeable people in all departments. We are do it yourself types. More than 8 years experience with this store doing kitchen remodels, plumbing, electrical, floors, windows, doors, garden center, you name the department and we have bought from there.

I shop at Menards often because of the quality of service and product,. I want to call attention to an experience that I had 5/30/15 in the plumbing department, there was and employee an older male bald in the top who spent more time running from customers to avoid helping them. I was there with a friend and we had to literately chase this guy down to get a few questions answered about product that would best suite our needs. I would like to comment on my experience at menards in dolton, il, I truly enjoyed shopping there, the employees were very helpful and friendly. The department manager Mario Sharkey was excellent, he had a great personaltiy, he was friendly and very helpful. He also went the extra mile to assist me in getting what I needed and did a few follow up calls to let me know when my item was arriving, because of Mario being so helpful, friendly and knowledgable, I will always shop at the Menards in dolton, il. I would like to congradulate the store for having courtesy patrol people, we had a young lad approach us , and we drove in from Cleveland, to get what we could not find locally, he was so very helpful and took care of our every need, it was a very refreshing. Thank you and Thank You Jonathan for all your help./

Great service. I realize the service has alot to do with the customers attitudes when asking for help. They have no problem helping anyone but if youre going to have a ghetto attitude who in thr world would want to help you?
