I told Jimmy that I didn't trust my external dial thermometer on my ugly drum smoker. He set me up with a Maverick digital oven thermometer that clips to the grill gate. That way I can know the smokers internal temperature with out opening the top. Turns out the external dial thermometer was WAY off. Like 60 degrees off. Thank you Jimmy! I'm done with lying dial gauges.
