With a referral to a urology specialist, at the higher copay, Memorial will send you in to see a nurse, the nurse will take notes and make you another appointment to see the specialists that you were supposed to see in the first place. This cost you and the insurance company two visits instead of one. This is 'overbilling' and is fraud. This is against the law in Mississippi but no one is doing anything about it.
I'm a 23 year Naval (Seabee) Veteran and had a referral sent from the VA on 07 January 2022.OPTUM sent the referral on 3 occasions 3 weeks apart and was told their was no record of a referral from OPTUM On 23 March (10 WEEKS LATER MIND YOU).I finally received a call stating my appointment was on 31 March.In the meantime I suffered and wound up going to the ER to have it corrected.Its quite clear that either they don't need the business or just DON'T CARE...HORRIBLE Customer Service!
