The billing dept. is absolutely the worst, of any organization we have dealt with. This has been going on for years and initially blamed on new software but it is no better 11 years later. We are asked to pay up front, on surgeries, X-rays, etc. Then when those charges were actually covered by insurance….they refuse to refund the double payment that we specifically paid for. Came here after being discharged from a different place (not memorial affiliated, only because my primary dr is there) that told me there was nothing in my leg. That it was just a small puncture. from the moment I checked in staff listened and looked at the injury. a very obvious piece of wood was poking out. The dr numbed me up very well, and pulled out an almost 4 inch long and thick piece of a branch. Review of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport (MGH): My experience with MGH has been deeply disappointing, and I feel compelled to speak up. In my opinion, this hospital puts far too much focus on a patient's insurance status rather than their actual health needs. I've been helping a young woman with serious medical issues. Posting reviews here is all well and good, but doesn’t do much other than warn other patients. Remember to file complaints with the MSDH, Joint Commission, and state board of licensure as well for a better chance at accountability. Filing all three complaints can be done in just a few minutes. As for my review, this place is awful.
