OUTSTANDING PROPRIETOR. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. I'm sorry in advance for the length, but I feel the need. Was going to Rochester, from California, for a visit to the Mayo Clinic to hopefully find answers to wife's undiagnosed illness. Our visit to Mayo was occurring over our 25th anniversary, wife's birthday, and Mothers Day (yes, all in the same week of May. At Melissa's my wife were looking for a nice quiet dinner for two and we encountered service with a smile, drinks that didn't go dry, and food that made our tastebuds water with satisfaction. We were also happy to find out items on their menu are locally sourced, organic, and fresh! The presentation of food courses to the last bite of dessert was fantastic. We will highly recommend Melissa's to visitors and friends. Special thanks to the Chef who was awesome as well.

Melissa's on 2nd was delightful. The menu is fun. The food choices are not your average steak and steamed vegetable. The food was delicious! The atmosphere and service was excellent. Melissa and her staff were warm and friendly. We would definitely recommend it. We will be going back. :)

Wouldn't recommend this restaurant. There were no vegetarian main entree options on the menu. I was excited when I called and was told that one could be made if I called ahead. I called the day before to confirm. No one told me that there would be a made-to-order charge. I also asked that the meal not be mushroom-heavy and it was full of mushrooms.
