I’ve been seeing Dr Smythe for a number of years. She was truly so great. I even followed her to her new practice. However, the last few times I have gone in I’ve felt like I am inconveniencing her. She seems truly annoyed that I am there. Last time, I just felt like an idiot and a pain the entire time. So I don’t know. She literally changed my life a number of years ago and was an amazing listener. So I can’t rate her poorly. I have been going to Dr. Smythe for over two decades. She cured my migraines when no other doctor could. I have always found her to be compassionate and and empathetic. She always makes time to listen to me.
I have been going to Dr. Smythe for many years and I love her and her staff. She cured my migraines and no one else had been able to help me.
I find it disheartening to read the 1 star reviews about Dr. Smythe, because it doesn't at all reflect my visits with her. I really enjoy our conversations in the examination room, she's personable, and often discloses details about her life which I find really refreshing, like she's an actual person who wants to connect with her patients on a deeper level. She was incredibly thorough, and asked me questions no other doctor had before, it was outstanding. I cannot recommend her enough.
I was surprised to read the only other review on here as it mirrors my exact feelings about Dr. Smythe. Each visit was more about her and hardly about me. We never discussed my illness. She always advised to take more and more vitamin D. During appointments, she would vent about the cost of her insurance and about how she wasn't making money. At check out, I received a copy of her "notes" of the visit. Everything on there was false- we didn't discuss any of the wellness issues on that review.
I have nothing personal against Dr. Smythe or her staff. Healthcare is important! After many many visits here, I believe that the care is subpar by a wide margin. I believe Dr. Smythe doesn't ask deep questions, or try to understand and solve the problem at hand. She does the bare-minimum to get paid "like a doctor" while providing questionable advice and solutions. I've had other doctors repeatedly contradict her advice, because they keep up with current medical knowledge. I can't recommend.
