We were assigned Dr Melamdowitz as our paediatrician by the Mater Hospital. He arrived several hours late to discharge us, the midwives had to call him to see where he was, and he forgot to provide us with a script we needed before leaving the hospital. We contacted his office to request the script and they sent us what appeared to be an escript. When we tried to fill it, we were told it wasn’t valid. We didn’t request Dr Melamdowitz services but he was allocated to us by the Mater private hospital. He arrived four and half hours late to discharge us. Put on gloves to handle our five day old baby, then wiped his nose that was running a couple of times before picking up the baby. Super unhygienic. Invoiced us months later for this ‘service’ that we never agreed to nor were consulted about.
He looked after both our babies at the Mater Maternity ward. Our first baby had a medical emergency and had to go into ICU and Melamdowitz was there in no time at all to attend to the emergency. We wouldn't use any other doctor if we were to have another baby.
An excellent diagnostitian who is very knowledgeable and thorough with his consultation. Was always given notice by his receptionist if he was running late. Friendly and gentle with my child.
