I’m an RN at UAB hospital and have been for 10+ years, I took my husband here d/t new onset of hypoxia and dyspnea related to COVID. They didn’t allow visitors so I waited in the car. I loved using Dr. Gill but the staff in here office are very rude and one decided she was going to refuse to give me my paper work back and even laughed as she dis it. Her name was Melissa she was rude on the phone and then argued with me about who was an actual dr and who wasn't so because of some of the staff i will not be back
Develop a process for communication with families during the COVID19....this has been going on since March, it is unfathomable that you don't have a better process or any process whatsoever. Families are struggling to get updates on their family members. Elderly patients become somewhat disoriented by pain medication and just from being hospitalized, and I still have to search and call multiple people to get updates. I would not recommend this emergency room. I came with someone from the freestanding er in hoover and was told multiple times that visitors were allowed. I got to the hospital and of course no visitors allowed, which is fine, but I wish someone would have informed me correctly. I asked the lady at the er and she was extremely rude saying no visitors and there was a security officer standing there telling her that she received an email saying that a person for moral support was able to be there with the patient, and meanwhile... read more
