Whatever you do, do not take your child to visit Dr. Shuemein Mar!!! She is easily the rudest physician I have ever seen and her bedside manner is awful. Especially for pediatrics. She does not listen to parents and is extremely condescending. She prescribed a medication that is absolutely unsafe for my son to take with his heart condition. I only found out about this after thankfully taking him for a second opinion after being treated so awful by her. Highly recommend. Dr. Eswaran is very caring and takes the time to answer questions and listen to concerns.
Very hard to get a hold of the doctor and get the right kind of medicine for ulcerative colitis..either the medicine made my symptoms worse and not listening when I told her my medicine wasn't working and my insurance won't cover it..now waiting to hear back for medicine that my insurance will cover and actually will help me..never been so irratted.
Definitely do not recommend. So difficult to get a hold of anyone, then takes days to actually hear back from a nurse if you have a question; longer if they need to reach the doctor. Some nurses I have talked to were pretty rude, and the doctor I saw was quite insensitive. Also lack of follow through. I had high expectations for U of M, so I've been pretty disappointed.
