We took my mother in law to the ER after her being hospitalized for days for a stroke. Her neurologist told us to rush her back to the ER if she experienced symptoms again, BUT the nurses or registration people couldn't be bothered to check her file. They wanted her to wait in the waiting area while they played around behind the counter. No one was in the ER she is experiencing another stroke but that doesn't matter to the staff at MCH ER. How can this litter box of a place be called a medical facility? Upon learning of the death of a nephew and imminent death of a grandparent, I suffered a 3 day long anxiety attack? Emergent? Technically, no. The fact that I had barely eaten or slept in 72 was, however, so I bit the bullet and admitted myself to the ER in hopes of some meds to calm me down a bit. The NP is NOT a dr. BUT She is the only one I saw. No doctor checked on me. The NP wouldn't listen and just threw pain pills at the problem. I asked her to check my iron and calcium levels as I have PTC and a Total Thyroidectamy and I've had many issues with both dropping severely resulting in hospitalization and she said that the hospital doesn't do blood work....all I got was a CT and she came in said looks good. Avoid if not life or death. Nurses are nice, but not overly helpful. Doctors are dismissive and condescending. You’ll probably get better care elsewhere.
