I'm sorry for taking so long to post a review, it's been 8 months since my Dad's passing and I'm finally coming to terms or acceptance. It was a very traumatic process, but the staff made things a lot more bearable. First I'd like to thank the nurse assigned to my case, Yetty RN. Very personable and friendly staff, it was a pleasure to volunteer here.
First, I need to apologize for waiting 2 1/2 months before writing this review...I was my Mom's primary care giver and we had lived together for 18 1/2 years so I just went down after her passing. I can hardly state the gratitude I have for the Medcore staff, especially Geraldine and Thirty, that supported my Mom and myself throughout the last weeks before she passed. Took care of loved one. BUT... WORST THING - wasn't called that loved one had died. Medcore nurse(?) at bedside before found out by chance of death. Who should make the call of death to family? Medcore? Or hospital, nursing home, etc? Didn't keep me updated. Didn't text after visit as requested several times. Not even a two minute call. Didn't alert me to prescription changes most of the time. Didn't know who had visited as couldn't read signatures/initials or knew abbreviations. Left in dark much of the time.
I would recommend Medcore's hospice care. A big thank you to Monica, and Mom's primary nurse/case mgr for working so hard to get Mom's meds all ready in time for her arrival at home for 1st day of hospice. Yetty, our primary RN, was loving towards mom and continued her compassion for us daughters during and after mom’s passing.
