Our wonderful Mum spent almost 3 years at this mecwa centre, she passed away in March. Mum had complex needs, like many people in their 90s. We settled on this centre because it was close to us, was smaller than most other homes and it was clean and comfortable. We were also impressed with the Manager, nurses, carers and staff. We also liked the feel of the Home, there’s some life about the place, residents having a coffee at the Cafe, activities and events. My grandpa went into Mecwa aged care for support, instead he was bullied, teased, and had his wallet stolen. When I spoke & stood up to these nurse bullies, the wallet ‘reappeared’ but the cash was gone. The abuse didn’t stop. This isn’t care, it’s cruelty.
