I wanted to take a moment to give a special shout-out to The Meadows ALF in Mt. Clemens. Lijo, Barb, and Jen do an amazing job ensuring their residents receive exceptional care. They have a dedicated team of caregivers who are readily available to assist residents 24/7. The staff was kind enough but this place just looks at it's residents as dollar signs. My Auntie passed away on a Thursday morning. We had paid for her room through the following Wednesday and when we went the Monday before that to clear out her belonging, they had packed her things up and had someone else living there. When I say packed up they had thrown her things into garbage bag breaking things. No one told us they had packed her things up, we found it when we got to her room and someone else was living there. My parents have lived at the Meadows for almost 2 years. They have settled in very nicely. The staff treats them wonderfully, and all of their needs are met. They now have the happy, carefree life that they deserve!
We are so pleased that we found an excellent place for Mom to live in her later years. The staff is kind, helpful and interactive. She is always clean and well fed. Madison the activities coordinator helps keep her mind and body challenged with fun games and crafts. I think one of the biggest advantages of this place is it’s not so big. She spends most of her time in the common areas of the living room and dining area with the same people daily. I think that helps with dementia to make her feel more comfortable.
