We had the best possible experience here last week, considering the circumstances. My son had an accident while riding an ebike on the carriage roads. They took us back right away and every single staff member was so kind and helpful. No one wants to go to the ER on their vacation but we are so thankful to all the staff there. Keep up the great work!
Worse registration process I've seen anywhere! Slowest, most out of touch process and people I've seen. Ridiculous. Will never take another referral for MDI hospital again.
Went to ER yesterday and though the ER nurses and staff were kind and compassionate my partners situation required being seen and treated by the surgeon who was Dr. Doughtry...he was horribly rude, judgemental, was using a raised voice and was so unprofessional I had to say to him his bedside manner absolutely sucked! I went into anaphylaxis the other day because of shellfish and went to MDI. Me and my boyfriend haven't stopped talking about this place since. Genuinely have never been to a better ER. The staff were quick, and kind. If you're visiting bar harbor and are hesitant because of the exterior (we were) don't be. 10/10 staff.
We just visited Bar Harbor for the first time and our son had his first ever allergic reaction to something he ate. Everyone in the ER that night was personable, kind, and very helpful. They had our son feeling better quickly and we didn’t have to wait at all to be seen. When you’re so far away from home and have a scary emergency like this, it means the world to have such caring people at a time like this. Thank you so much for everything you did for us.
