Wonderful facility, only complaint is the ATC is inefficient and excruciatingly slow. I wanted to scream every time they sent me to the ATC!!!’
When you walk through the doors at MDA, you are not separated by color, wealth, religion or politics, you are ONE, united by the same disease, cancer! The team at the hospital treats you as if you are the the special one. They provide the patient with around the clock care and attention. The knowledge of all the caregivers, staff and medical team makes you feel comfortable no matter what the outcome, they did their best to treat you and to make you feel like all is possible. Excellent care with wonderful staff and amazing doctors.
This is the place to if you have cancer. I was there in March and every person I came in contact with was caring and helpful. The care was awesome.
I know that MD Anderson is a "great" hospital, but only if they take your insurance. If not they will bully your insurance company into their terms. If those aren't met they will NOT see a patient that is fighting for their life trying to battle cancer. This is not compassionate or is it right. I get you need to be paid but turning away cancer patients based on the amount of money you can milk from their insurance is ridiculous. I have heard way too many bad stories then good. Tried getting an appointment to see a doctor. Since I am on second line of therapy they will only refer me to clinical trials . No compassion . My husband is a doctor and we have a medical clinic . I also have three doctors I am seeing for my cancer . I am shocked !
I have stage IV rectal cancer with only one met to liver approximately 7mm. My local oncologist told me there wasn’t anything else he could do except chemo and he can’t give it to me forever and my liver was inoperable so he wanted to do ablation. The only IR that would even attempt the biopsy did 8 biopsies only to get the right spot once. For this reason, I’m wasn’t about to let him try to do an ablation.
