We grew up in Plattsburgh and lived on Clare and Carl's but joined the service and moved away. We continue to come home and pretty much have to go to McSweeneys because Clare and Carl's is closed for the season when we visit and McSweeneys what use to be a good second option but this time was terrible. We went there twice on this trip thinking the first time was a fluke because the Michigan's were so dry but the girl that waited on us was very nice and attentive. The second time was much worse. I got 2 red hots and the special fries. The food was amazing, exactly as advertised. Service was quick and good. Will definitely eat here again when I pass through.

Stopped in for a quick bite and ended up really liking it. The hot dogs had a great snap, the toppings tasted fresh, and everything came out hot. It has that simple old-school kind of feel where you can just grab some good food without overthinking it. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re craving a solid hot dog and fries.

I’ll start by saying the food was delicious and the service was good. That’s where the good ends. There are no prices on the menu which is annoying, if they change as often as gas prices then write them on a board, otherwise go to a paper menu with prices, no excuse for this. My chief complaint was a small (very) fountain drink was $2.55 and a large (not very) was $3.55, which wouldn’t be awful if you get refills.
