My husband ‘s physician referred him to the Foot And Ankle center office upstairs, same building, same day to set an appointment for his toenail fungus. Dr. Richard Mendelsohn, Podiatrist in McLean Va, was very anxious to take my husband and said will take you today! Wait. After 1 1/2 hours in his office, he shocked us by saying He does not cut nails, « I AM A DOCTOR»! I asked who does it? He said the Beauty Salon! I do not recommend Family Foot and Ankle Center. I had a lapiplasty foot surgery recommended/performed by Mendelsohn Nov 2021. It was the worst surgery ever from every aspect I can think of and I'm still having serious issues, Aug 2023. The office was chaotic, the xray machine was broken twice after my foot surgery during post-op appointments, and their billing system was messed up. I would pay for an invoice received via mail and I would be asked to pay again for the same invoice on post-op visits. Nothing like hobbling in ... read more
Never billed my insurance for my visit after I requested multiple times. Instead closed my account and was sent to collections. My credit was affected. Good luck. Never returning.
No care about the condition of patient. All they cared about was whether insurance would pay or not. Awful place.
I initially saw Mendelsohn for a plantar faciitis issue which he helped me get rid of. On the same foot, I noticed two of my toes were starting to separate so he recommended a specific bunion surgery called a lapiplasty procedure. It didn't make sense how that would help with the toe separation and I didn't see a bunion sticking out but he said it would help and I would heal after only 5 weeks.
