On November 2, 2022 we had a technician from McKinnon Healing Cooling visit our home for our tankless water heater maintenance and inspection. The same company had previously serviced this water heater with no issues identified whatsover. Upon inspection, the McKinnon technician identified that the vent outlet (which vented under our deck) was set at the appropriate height but did not have ventilation on both sides.
