Frustrating. I spent $7600 for a lawn mower, Scagg, and always got the runaround. McGavic rarely answers the phone. They rarely let you know what is happening. Service does not call AT ALL. Dont buy the mulching kit for the Scagg bc it is ridiculously noisy. McGavic’s solution is to put back on the original blades and tell me, “whelp we are sending you the mulching blades w the mower bc you bought ‘em. Worked with Chris. He was fantastic. Helped me learn about different mowers and choose the right one for me. Gave me an outstanding price. Good selection of equipment.
I bought a Stihl electric push mower from McGavic in September 2020. When this season began the battery wouldn't charge. The charger flashed red, which according to the manual indicates either the battery or charger is bad. I took it over and asked if they could check to see which one was not working. Sales rep acted put out and then said the only thing they could do would be to put battery on a new charger and new battery on my older charger. He took both and said they would get back with me. I’ve had repeated issues with a new mower I bought almost a year ago. Went to McGavic’s this morning prepared to throw a BIG fit. Manager and service manager, Brian listened and looked up the service records on my mower and offered a satisfactory solution without question. Their demeanor/attitude with me sold me on McGavic. VERY professional, kind and cooperative. Made me take a complete 180 on my opinion.
I sent my mower in on September 24 for general maintenance, alignment, and issues with the hydraulics. Unfortunately, it sat at their shop until May 2025 due to an error with my phone number in their system. While I wasn’t in an urgent rush, the lack of communication and follow-up left a lot to be desired in terms of customer support.
