I think they need to choose a direction and stick with it. Either fully lean into the self-service model or make sure there are team members consistently available to help. The space has clearly been redesigned with a self-service McDonald’s feel in mind, which I personally don’t mind. I actually prefer kiosks most of the time. That said, if the setup is going to minimize employee interaction, then essential items like napkins, straws, ketchup, and drinks should be easy to grab. Visited in July 2025 after reopening. Food was fresh, order correct, no issues there. I do not like the new format. No access to extra napkins, no self service beverages. If you need something you have to wait at an unstaffed counter until you catch the eye of someone in the back, which can take several minutes.
