The McAllen Botanical Garden, also called the McAllen Nature Center, is a picturesque park in the heart of the city. At 59 acres (23 hectares), it is one of the largest of its kind and is rich in flora and fauna. This verdant space boast old trees and dense meadows that are home to numerous species of birds, butterflies and reptiles, including the endangered indigo snake and horned lizard. It offers plenty of opportunities for trails and hikes, and is also a good picnic spot for the family.

Beautiful park! I have been here for a walk, yoga beginner class, and a short jog today. I think Tiffany is the manager. I haven't met her but she's doing a great job! The events are awesome and free. The facebook posts are interesting and professional. I am very thankful for this park and its team/volunteers. The yoga for beginners free class was a neat experience. There were a lot of people, the parking lot was full, which is awesome to me because we ought to spend time doing good things like the events offered by McAllen ... read more
