Never have had any issues with dr or at appts. However, when my son was suffering from a cough, I tried to get his prescription cough medicine refilled (as at a previous appt, the pa told me otc ones do not work, and it is always a good idea to have a prescription cough medicine at hand in case you need it), and they would not refill it without him being seen. Try to call and schedule an appointment for your child when they are sickband you get the run around. " oh there is virus, call back in 5 days", " oh there is a 72 hour bug going around, call back in 5 days". Unacceptable.
