My mom was hospitalized at Mayo Phoenix with a UTI and complications, at discharge she was referred to Mayo Urology for follow up care with urgent testing required. I called after discharge and was told her case was triaged and “denied”. I had a mixed experience here at mayo. I am a transgender person who just had surgery here at mayo and I feel like they could really use some education that way. The nursing staff was great! Zero complains with them. My surgeon, Dr Khan was fantastic and I am very happy with the job she did. The team she used for the surgery could use some training in bedside manner and dealing with transgender folks.
