Sat in the emergency room with a suspected aneurysm for 30 minutes NO STAFF before going to another hospital where they verified. Unsafe, unprofessional, disturbing level of negligence.
The triaging is ridiculous. Patients with acuities that should be seen in the emergency department are triaged to urgent care where wait times are much longer. The urgent care providers are clearly over worked and understaffed. Apparently the ED physicians and PAs are supposed to help pick up patients but do not. From what I have heard, this problem has been brought up by the urgent care providers time and time again but clearly Mayo leadership has no interest in fixing the problem. Very disappointing.
Be prepared to wait over an hour on hold to speak to anyone (if you ever get anyone). We couldn't locate a fax number online to send documents directly to cardiology here and are still stuck on hold just to get something that should be posted on the website or included in the automated voice system for transfers.
Ashley at the front end of check in has been rude, disrespectful and curt with not only myself but others I observe her servicing. I’m in for labs once, sometimes 2 times a week and overall the customer service at the admission desk is not helpful; they cannot receive clear answers from staff they call to confirm orders, and the lab is unreliable and rude
I went in to urgent care because the appt with my primary care provider was canceled. I explained my symptoms, and unfortunately there were a fair amount of them. After I explained how I felt the nurse asked what my primary concern was. I felt pretty disrespected and confused because all of the symptoms I had are in the upper half of my upper body.
