The most egregiously horrible experience I’ve had in healthcare was at Mayo Clinic ER in Sparta. I walked into the ER experiencing neurologic symptoms. I had just graduated law school and was undergoing lots of stress as I prepared for the Bar exam. The nurses were extraordinarily kind. The doctor, however, entered the room and did not introduce herself. She immediately proceeded to ask if I had consumed illegal drugs or had a history of mental health problems.
