Amye J Tevaarwerk told one of her patients "Crying is not an acceptable response to having cancer. You're making the nurses uncomfortable and if this continues, we won't treat you anymore." So keep that in mind in case you want empathy while going through cancer.
My mom got diagnosed with colon cancer a few months ago. They wrongly diagnosed her type of cancer and now has been awaiting treatment for going on 3 months!! Thankfully we aren't residents in Rochester, and our cancer center here in kentucky has been amazing and off the charts helpful! Mayo made appointments for late january but hasn’t made any progress in getting treatment or communication sooner with an actively spreading type 4 cancer! Extremely disappointed, mayo is nothing like it used to be 10 years ago.
Truly HORRIBLE! All the nurses are just constantly trying to go home. It doesn’t matter if you’re sick and throwing up in the bathroom. If you’re late by even a little bit that are heartless tyrants. If you can… go somewhere else. It’s not worth it when you’re sick to deal with these monsters. Take it from someone who lives in Rochester, MN.
