one of the best places I've eaten at. don't pass it up. you will be licking your plate after tasting the pasta dish.
It's a fine dining place in Pilsen - highest quality meats and fish - plus great salads and deserts. The use of pineapple, lime, sauces that are Latin makes for a unique twist on favorites. We come for special occasions. I especially appreciate their gardens!
OVER RATED---NOT A BYOB ANY MORE! – I Have been here 3 times in the past. It was always a BYOB, now it is not! The Chef was rude about it and said we could not drink our wine we brought because "he was losing too much F*$king money." Then a minute later he was bragging to his friends at the bar about all the famous people he knew and how much money he was making! The food was mediocre at best. The Jewel of Pilsen – Don't let the location or exterior of May St. Cafe scare you off. The interior is small, but intimate. You will definitely need reservations as it seems to be flooded with customers since they were featured on Check Please. The food will not make you say WOW, but it is good. You mix the good food with good wine (BYOB, except for 3.50 corkage fee) and it makes for a fun night. This place is really small, so I wouldn't recommend it for large groups. Must try – Great food, good service and two really good chefs who know what they are doing. To top it all, it is still BYOB, so feel free to take a wine of your choice and enjoy with this delicious food.
