I just wanted to share my exceptional experience at May River Dermatology in Bluffton. I initially met with Nick Cassel, PA who explained the procedure I would be having in detail. He was pleasant and knowledgeable and addressed all my questions and concerns. On the day of my procedure, Shannon and Gabby were absolutely wonderful and made me feel comfortable before and after my procedure. I asked if I might join my wife ( and she join me) for our back to back appointments. The nurse came into the waiting room and asked loudly ( there were multiple people in the room) “you can only join her with a medical reason! What is your medical reason” I did not respond thinking it was not appreciated to share with the whole room. When she led us to different rooms I told her that we both found it best to listen to each others doctors comments so we could remember them. Had appointment today that when I booked it was very specific to what I wanted done. Got there and Dr. wanted to do things differently than I requested. I said no and I would go to va instead. Got charged $180.00 for nothing done.
Unfortunately the doctor I got was a dud. Zero communication skills and very little knowledge of my particular skin condition. Mayriver seems to be really big on "continuity of care" which sucks because otherwise I would have just asked for a new doctor with the same firm, but I guess I'll just go somewhere else.
