Overpriced and overrated – Don't be fooled by the enticing exterior or the Seattle Times review. The food is overpriced and nothing you can't find at any other Thai restaurant and the service was the slowest I have seen in a while. We arrived on a Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. to find the restaurant half full. We were led to a dark table in the back after the hostess had awkwardly convinced the two parties before us to just find their own seats downstairs. The menu looked interesting as we perused it for the next 15-20 minu... read more

May Restaurant and Lounge I'm not a big fan of this place. The food is good, but nothing spectacular, and they are pretty pricey for Thai food. The atmosphere is nice, in a dark-wood, Thai-fusion kind of way. Their desserts are *terrible*--everything is filled with far too much black pepper, including the chocolate cake! They have interesting but pricey cocktails.

Nice Facility – The food is very good - and so is the atmosphere. I would recommend for in house dining but not for take out. The containers are ill suited and get soggy in the process. Some of the dishes are over priced.

Pretentious atmosphere and bland food – I heard about the place and went there expecting something special. I wasn't impressed. The atmosphere was pretentious and the food was okay (the soup) but I also ordered a vegetable dish and it tasted like the vegetable had been cooked in fish oil. I don't mind fish but I don't want everything to taste like fish! When I saw a little six-legged "critter" scamper across the floor that was enough! I didn't finish the meal and I won't be eating there again.

Good Happy Hour, Good Food! – It's been a while since I've been to Wallingford and was surprised to see such an ornate building. I stopped in for happy hour and had this tasty beer Pandan Ale (some Thai ingredient). I had several and had the duck dish. I've been back a couple of times and the Pad Kee Mao and Pandan Ale are my favorites. Bartenders are friendly too.

Love this place!!! – This is my favorite place to eat in the Wallingford area, and beyond. The place is amazing, straight out of Thailand, and the food is great. The lounge downstairs is awesome, perfect for you and yours to hang out and have a drink and some awesome Thai food. The Phad Thai is the house specialty, and it is incredible. Of course all the rest of the classics, and some of the not so classic dishes for the more adventurous are good too! My wife and I go whenever we can...Maybe the guy who didn't like the food ... read more

All looks, no substance – For all the fuss they put into the decor, you would think they would have left a little something to put into the cooking. But no, this place is long on decor, short on flavor, and very high priced. I got a shrimp dish. For $17 I got exactly six shrimp in a lackluster sauce, had to pay extra for rice. My date's food was bland and overpriced as well. This restaurant is the culinary equivalent of the super hot-looking babe who makes you spend all your money but still won't sleep with you.

Bland – I wasn't impressed. I read all these reviews saying how great it was, I was really disappointed. I felt like the menu was small...I couldn't find any Thai staples at all. I ended up ordering Phad Thai (which I hate doing) and it was BLAND.

MAY FOR ALL MONTHS – I've enjoyed May three times since they opened in Wallingford. And it's been a treasure every time. I only wish I would allow myself more time to enjoy more selections rather than needing to dash off to the Guild 45th for a movie. Appetizers, entrees and other selections are more varied and expertly prepared than most Thai restaurants in the city. The prices are slightly higher, too, but the quality, service and ambience make May a value for both special occassions and everyday hunger needs. And enjoy th... read more
