Great customer service in the end! Hubby loved his turkey reuben and fries (HUGE amount of fries). My sweet potato fries were the best ones I've ever had. But I ordered a corned beef sandwich, and got a roast beef one instead. I ate my fries, and 1/4 of this sandwich but didn't like it. The manager took my meal totally off the bill AND offered to make a whole new meal for me, at no charge. We very much appreciated her offer, but we are on the road and have no way to use leftovers. Great spot for breakfast if you are in the Stowe area. Just a short drive and easy parking. Good food and great service.
We drove 40 minutes specifically to have breakfast at Maxi’s because of all the great reviews, only to find a handwritten sign on the door saying they were closed. There was nothing posted on Google or on social media to let people know in advance. While we were standing there, multiple other customers showed up excited to eat, only to turn around and leave disappointed. It was incredibly frustrating to waste so much time and gas for nothing. Worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. We were initially told the wait for a table of six would be about 25 minutes, but we ended up waiting 45 minutes. I can understand that delays happen, especially if they’re waiting for another table to leave, so I was willing to overlook that. The real problem started after we were seated. We placed our order, and 45 minutes later we still hadn’t received any food.
