I must say I've eaten there twice and it was delish. The burgers look excellent the normal size ones. The big burgers as many reviews I still see the a shinning star in the normal size. I thought for the most part the bartenders were kind and attentive ....but they have other issues with staff sitting at the bar....not common in most places unless there is no one left eating ...old employment came in that seemed to suggest a rude comment behind my back as he walked in ...the atmosphere changed as there were way too many empl... read more
Good eats! – This chain has stood the test of time, and is a Columbus landmark. the best French onion soup in the world, and their trademark burgers are top notch. Consistency is hard to find in most chains, but M&E has it nailed. we will be going back.
And the worst service award goes to?..Max and Erma?s in Fairlawn! – This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a "review" for a restaurant. I expect to wait for a table on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised when we were seated in less than a half hour, however, that was the last good experience here. Once we were seated we were completely ignored by four servers and a manager for 15 minutes. All walked by our table quickly and avoided eye contact. In the mean time, another waitress was at a nearby table sit... read more
Great food and good service! Unexpected surprise! – I'll be honest... until a couple of weeks ago, I hadn't been to a Max and Erma's in nearly twenty years. I thought the restaurant was geared to seniors as it was one of my grandparents favorites forever ago. I was so surprised by my experience. The food was delicious. I tasted the hamburger and was initially jealous that I didn't order it... then I tried my soup (the tortilla soup) and salad (hula salad) and that jealousy disappeared! The soup was delicous (I tried not to t... read more

Editorial Review by Christy Buena – Chain restaurant serves salads, sandwiches, burgers and hearty steak and seafood entrees in a casual atmosphere.
Outstanding variety – Try the "Garbage" Burger. You can choose a great number of tasty items to suit your taste buds! It can get a little sloppy, but sometimes sloppy is fantastic.
This local chain is one of your best bets for quick, greasy burgers and beer. – The Scene Max and Erma's fern bar-style chain launched back in the '70s, but its German Village location is the original hangout, once owned and run by the real Max and Erma. This street corner saloon retains a certain amount of its funky charm, despite corporate attempts to "decorate." Quite a few regulars from the old days still haunt the place, and lively crowds gather on the weekends. The Food The menu has gone corporate, but the big, sloppy ... read more
I can honestly say that Max & Ermas has the best cheeseburgers. Not to mention the service was great. You have to try the BBQ Cheeseburger, I know that it sounds weird, but it is so good!!
Max & Erma's has a 4.3 star rating with 187 reviews.
Max & Erma's is closed now. It will open at 9:00 a.m.
