I have lived in MG managed apartments off and on for many years. At first it was good, then wanted to move to next door walk up building which had a newly gutted apt avail. The office shrew (most are family members, who can't get any jobs) took all my info, then waited and waited. Finally I did connect and she said "How do you expect to pay for this apt!) Well here are some bank and investment account statements showing I have over 175K in assets.I told her I had this and in one ear out the other. Finally, I did get the apt ... read more

I have lived in a MG building for 2 years. We didn't have any problems with our unit during this time, so we experienced no issues with MG. However, I have been in the process of resigning a lease with them and it has been incredibly difficult and unprofessional. We have waited almost 6 weeks to receive our lease. We were not informed if our applications had been approved, if we needed a guarantor, what the lease start date was, or what the rent would be for weeks until one day our lease showed up in the mail. We have called... read more

I just have to say that people there are really rude, they need to learn how to treat people.

unfortunate inheritance – We inherited Mautner-Glick after the building owners fired the last management company. It all started out pretty well, they actually fixed a lot of what that was needing repair in the building. We even got a decent super (he didn't last long at all) Then it all went down hill. The building up keep is nil, you can NEVER get anyone one the phone directly, and the people that they hire to do any kind of repair work are like the three stooges. They lost my and my neighbors rent , sent us nasty notices ... read more

No Bueno – I've been living in one of their buildings for a few years myself, and here are my thoughts. To provide some pretext - I'm upper middle class. I have a credit score of 700+. I've lived in many parts of the world in many different contexts. Mauter Glick will be quick to point out that the people giving poor reviews on here are just sqeaky wheels. This review is written after a few years of experiences with them. Right up until the point to which you sign the lease, they'll treat you like gold and have smiles. At th... read more

adequate – I lived in one of their buildings for several years. I would summarize it by saying they are average. You won't be amazed by the level of service you receive but it meets the standards you would expect.

Rude staff and poor record-keeping – I am a current resident of a Mautner Glick apartment building. I have an excellent rental history, with no late payments. I received a late notice letter in the middle of the month, even though they cashed the rent check on the 3rd. When I called them to clear it up, they said it wasn't their fault, and the third party they use to process the checks screwed up. When I said they should take some responsibility, they hung up on me. I'd be careful renting with this company. It's one thing to... read more

Really very happy with my new apartment – When I moved into a Mautner Glick apartment building, I remember reading these reviews prior and being scared that I had just made the biggest mistake of my life when I signed a year lease. But, two months later, I couldn't be happier with my decision. I have lived in five different apartment buildings since I have moved to New York and this one is the best of the lot. The rent is decent for the space, it's clean, it's quiet, I have new-ish appliances, and the super is responsive whe... read more

Save your money and your dignity. They're rude crooks – I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has experienced problems when dealing with Mautner-Glick. Because I am currently a full-time graduate student, Mautner-Glick required that I pay four months rent upfront, in addition to my security deposit (despite the fact that I had a guarantor) -- to me, that seems like discrimination, especially since none of my previous management companies demanded that I pay that much upfront. In January after personally delivering my... read more
